9/11 Service of Remembrance and Thanksgiving – Monday, September 11, 7:00 – 8:30pm, at Jim Burks Firemen’s Memorial Park, 561 North Travis Street, Granbury (rain location: Granbury City Hall Council Chambers). Join the Granbury community in thanking God for the service of our military and first responders and remembering those who fell as a result of the 9/11 attacks or in service to our community.

 

Foster’s Home Workday – Tuesday, September 12 – Meet at the church building at 8:15am, travel to Foster’s Home and work for the houseparents cooking, etc. Bring a sack lunch. The van will return around 2:30pm. If you plan to go and help this month, please call Glenda Fry at 817-573-3244.

 

First Responders’ Lunch – The weekly Tuesday lunch for Hood County first responders will start again on September 12. Everyone is welcome to help cook and serve. To volunteer, please contact Linda Guy at 817-776-1328 or Jonna Eccles at 817-573-0316.

 

Wednesday Night Diner – 5:00-6:15pm, in the Fellowship Center. This week’s menu includes Firehouse Subs, Chips, Salad Bar, Cookie and Drink for $5. Kid-friendly menu is also available for $1 per item. Proceeds go toward scholarships for youth group activities.

 

Disaster Relief – To help victims of Hurricane Harvey, you can give directly to Churches of Christ Disaster Relief Effort online at www.disasterreliefeffort.org, give online at www.granburycoc.net, or give a check to the church office made payable to “Granbury Church of Christ” with “disaster relief” written on the memo line.

 

Magi Project – Thank you for collecting gift items and school supplies to pack in the gift boxes for children in Africa this Christmas.  Empty boxes will be available for pick-up in the gym on Sunday, September 24. Please fill and return the boxes to the gym by Sunday, October 8. Bibles furnished by the church will be added to the boxes before shipping.

 

Free Service Provided – John Knox and Rachel Rouse are offering free counseling services as a part of their degree and licensing programs. If you know someone who could benefit from counseling, contact John at  or the church office (817-573-2613), or Rachel at 806-438-8919.

Game and Potluck Day – Each Thursday beginning at noon in the Parlor. Bring a sack lunch and your favorite game and join us for a fun afternoon.

 

Children’s Ministry

LTC Meeting – Sunday, September 10, at 11:30am in Room 5 (Encouragers classroom). This meeting is for anyone who would like to volunteer and for all families (new and returning) with 3rd – 12th grade students who are interested in participating in Leadership Training for Christ.
