A couple of weeks ago, Mark and Ali Kaiser, our mission partners in Itu, Brazil, were here in Granbury for our Harvest Sunday, and we heard Mark describe their ministry to people coming out of a life of addiction. Through this ministry, they have helped a number of people find new life in Christ.
This effort, however, is just one piece of a multi-faceted ministry in Itu. Mark and Ali work alongside Ali’s parents, Antenor and Phyllis Goncalves, who are longtime missionaries also supported by our congregation. Together, they serve a church of 300 members in Itu and coordinate special events, such as Camp Roots (a bilingual camp for teens) and CURA (a medical and service campaign that helps almost 3,000 people in need each year). Antenor conducts a weekly radio program that is accessible worldwide through the internet. He and Phyllis also speak at retreats and seminars across Brazil.
May we always keep this family of servants in our prayers and ask God to multiply the results of their work in the name of Christ.
