Wednesday Night Diner – 5:00-6:15pm, in the Fellowship Center. This week’s menu includes C & J’s Brisket Sandwich, Soup, Salad Bar, Chips, Cookie and Drink for $5. Chicken nuggets are available for children for $1. Proceeds go toward scholarships for youth group activities.

 

Service Opportunity – GCOC and the Christian Service Center are sponsoring the Community Mobile Food Pantry on Friday, January 5, from 8:00am – 10:30am at First United Methodist Church on FM 51 N. Volunteers are needed to staff this effort. If you can help, sign-up sheets are available at the information tables or contact James Parker () or Jonna Eccles ().

 

First Sunday Welcome Lunch – The Neighbors class and the Elders and Deacons invite guests and new members who have placed membership since January 2017 to be their guests for lunch in the Dining Hall of the Fellowship Center on Sunday, January 7, immediately following the 10:15 worship service.

 

Ladies’ Bible Class is dismissed for the holidays and will resume January 10 with a new video series – Discerning the Voice of God by Priscilla Shirer. Join us on Wednesdays, 9:30-11:00am, in Room 5 (Encouragers classroom).

 

Save the Date! Ray Vander Laan will be speaking at the Saturn Road Church of Christ in Garland, February 16-18, 2018 (Friday evening, Saturday, Sunday morning). More details to come in January regarding registration.  Several from our congregation plan to attend and encourage you to join us. For more information, contact Marsha Gilbert.

 

Free Service Provided – Rachel Rouse is offering free counseling services as a part of her licensing program. If you know someone who could benefit from counseling, contact Rachel at 806-438-8919.

Game and Potluck Day – Each Thursday beginning at noon in the Parlor. Bring a sack lunch and your favorite game and join us for a fun afternoon.

 

Connections Groups

New Year’s Eve Connections Group will meet Sunday, December 31, at 6:00pm at the home of Yvonne Rosenquist. Everyone is invited to attend. Bring a potluck dish or finger foods and come to meet, greet and fellowship! Kirk Woolery will be the guest speaker.

 

The Sawyer Group will not meet in December.
