Reviving a Faded Dream
He was only a neighborhood kid when the Metro Church of Christ first dreamed of planting a church in every district of Mexico City. As the years went by, missionaries came and went, circumstances changed, and the dream faded. The boy grew up, married, and moved away, pursuing a life of his own. But he never forgot the dream.
Lalo Rocha, along with his family, eventually made his way back home, with the intent of helping the Metro church revive the dream. Starting with 12 members, he worked to build up the congregation which now has about 100 in attendance each week. He is mentoring and training new leaders and using innovative strategies to reach out to the urban community in the heart of this city. The dream is alive once more.
