Baby Shower

You’re invited to a baby shower for Angelina Hedrick (granddaughter of Darline McCleskey) on Saturday, September 2, 2:00-4:00pm, in the Parlor. She is expecting a girl and is registered at Amazon and Babies R Us.

 

Announcements    

Ladies’ Bible Class – Wednesdays beginning September 6, 9:30-11:00am in Room 5 (Encouragers classroom – enter through the door under the portico on the west side of the building). The study will be a book by Ann Spangler and Lois Tverberg entitled, Sitting at the Feet of Rabbi Jesus. All ladies are invited to attend.

 

Foster’s Home Children’s Day – Saturday, September 9. The campus will be open for tours at 11:00am, with a barbecue lunch served at noon. Come and see how God is changing lives at Foster’s Home!

 

You’re invited to Relationships Matter, a free conference providing a practical and spiritual guide for relationships with Jerry and Lynn Jones, September 10-13 at Burleson Church of Christ. Magi Project – We have an opportunity again this year to participate in the Magi Project, sponsored by Healing Hands International, to pack gift boxes for children in Africa for Christmas.  Now is a good time to begin purchasing gift items for the boxes, especially school supplies such as pencils, pens, crayons, etc.  More details to come.

 

Free Service Provided – John Knox and Rachel Rouse are offering free counseling services as a part of their degree and licensing programs. If you know someone who could benefit from counseling, contact John at  or the church office (817-573-2613), or Rachel at 806-438-8919.

 

Connections Groups

The Sawyer Group will meet Sunday, August 27, at 6:00pm at the Sawyer home for a potluck dinner. Everyone is invited to attend.

Game and Potluck Day – Each Thursday beginning at noon in the Parlor. Bring a sack lunch and your favorite game and join us for a fun afternoon.

 

Children’s Ministry

The Children’s Ministry needs volunteers for the 2017-2018 school year. Text VOLUNTEER to 817-768-3262 or go to the church website.

 

LTC Meeting – Sunday, September 10, at 11:30am in Room 5 (Encouragers classroom). This meeting is for all families (new and returning) with 3rd – 12th grade students who are interested in participating in Leadership Training for Christ.

 

Deacon Selection

After prayerful consideration, the elders recommend the following men to serve as deacons, based on the guidelines given in 1 Timothy 3:8-13: Clayton Bryant, Jason Lyman, and Blake Marion. The intent is to publicly ordain these men on September 10. Members are encouraged to personally affirm and/or ask questions of these men by September 2.
