Mission of the Month - Harvest Ministries

Lou Seckler is a man of many talents. Fluent in three languages – Spanish, Portuguese, and English – he uses his speaking and writing abilities to share the good news of Christ with others and provide resources to church leaders in Latin America through his Harvest Ministries program, which is partially funded by our congregation.

 

The highlight of the year for his ministry is the Glenn Owen Seminar for Church Leaders held in February each year in Mexico. This year’s seminar was hosted by the Family of Faith Church of Christ in the Mexico City metro area, with 40-50 people from across the nation attending each day. The featured speakers included Lou and our own Chris Frizzell. Lou translated all of the written materials and oral presentations that were given to the group. We have been informed that some of these resources are already being eagerly put to use in ministries across Mexico.

 

As a congregation, we contributed toward the cost of conducting the seminar, paid travel expenses for Chris and two of our missionaries in Mexico who attended, and sent funds to cover the cost of publishing Lou’s latest book on the Gospel of Mark that was distributed to everyone at the seminar. Let’s remember Lou in prayer as he continues to provide resources and encouragement to church leaders in Latin America who are constantly “emptying their bucket” in service to the Lord.
