Free Service Provided – John Knox is completing a degree in mental health counseling from Lubbock Christian University. This semester he is offering free counseling services as a part of his practicum. If you know an adult or adolescent who could benefit from counseling, contact John at  or the church office (817-573-2613).

 

Heaters Needed – As cooler weather approaches, the Christian Service Center is collecting heaters to distribute to our neighbors in need. If you would like to donate one, please bring it to the Christian Service Center.

 

Foster’s Home Workday – October 11 - Meet at the church building at 8:15am, travel to Foster’s Home and work for the houseparents cooking, etc. Bring a sack lunch. The van will return around 2:30pm. If you plan to go help this month, please call Glenda Fry at 817-573-3244.

 

Larry’s Diner -Wednesday, October 12, 5:00-6:15pm, in the Fellowship Center. The White Plate Special includes Chicken Tenders, Mashed Potatoes, Green Beans, Salad, Rolls, Dessert and Drink for $5. Kid-friendly menu is also available for $1 per item. All profits go toward scholarships to help GCOC youth attend camps and retreats.

 

Let’s help Casa!  This past summer Casa de la Esperanza – the children's home we support in Anahuac, Mexico – sent a list of needed items that we as a church can help with. The list includes school supplies (glue sticks, pencils, erasers, and wide rule spiral notebooks) and ongoing needs (twin-size fitted sheets, shampoo, conditioner, toothpaste, rice, and sugar). The month of October is your chance to help. You can put your donations in the boxes located in the hallways around the Worship Center and in the Fellowship Center, or you can bring them by the church office. GCOC Youth

Worship Sunday evening, at  Western Hills Church of Christ in Cleburne. Van leaves the church building at 4:45pm. Dinner is provided.

Cameron Moore was baptized last Sunday, October 2. Cameron is the son of Jonathan and Rachel Moore.

 

Baby Shower

Come and Go Shower honoring April and Christopher Watson, at the home of Glena Rickey, 2706 Harbor Side Dr., on October 30 from 2:00-4:00pm. They are registered at Baby’s R Us, Target, and Amazon cards are greatly appreciated. Proud grandparents-in-waiting are Jeff and Pinkie Jeffries.
