As was announced last Sunday, Michael Grayson will be transitioning out of the youth ministry at the Granbury Church of Christ by the end of June. He and Alexa are expecting a child this fall and desire to move closer to Alexa’s family in the Pacific Northwest (read Michael’s letter to the congregation below). We greatly appreciate Michael for his seven years of service here as an intern, associate, and youth minister and wish them the best in their new endeavors.
Please pray for Michael and Alexa during this time of transition in their lives and for our church leaders as they search for the right person to lead this ministry.
Dear Church Family,
If you have yet to hear the news, Alexa and I are being blessed by God with the new journey of becoming parents! We are full of all sorts of emotions as we wait for our baby and experience everything that comes with pregnancy.
With this wonderful blessing also comes one of the hardest decisions we have had to make. I will be transitioning out of youth ministry at the Granbury Church of Christ by the end of June. God has been continually opening my eyes to see the hurt that orphans and foreigners face. I have been ignoring this for some time, but I have come to a place where I cannot ignore this any longer.
Alexa and I are not sure what the next chapter of our lives will hold. We do know that with my desire to be an advocate for others and the arrival of our new baby this fall, we have felt drawn to the Pacific Northwest to live near Alexa’s family. We hope to move this summer.
I cherish the past seven years of ministering to the youth at the Granbury Church of Christ. It has filled my heart with amazing memories. I will forever cherish the teens, parents, and church members who have been a part of this journey with me. Thank you for being a blessing to my family, for taking a chance on me, and for shaping me to be the man I am today. Please be in prayer for Alexa and I as we prepare to be parents and as I seek to hear God’s voice for our next chapter.
Grace and peace,
Michael Grayson
