Mission of the Month - Mexico City

Several weeks ago, Chris Frizzell and Fidel Quesada, members of the GCOC missions committee, visited the mission effort we support in Mexico City, led by Lalo and Jamie Rocha. They returned with an encouraging report of the great things that are happening at the Iglesia de Cristo Metropolitana. The church continues to flourish and grow in both numbers and spirit. Sunday morning attendance averages about a hundred, with lots of young families involved with the congregation. Outreach takes place through personal Bible studies and the non-profit internet café located in their building. Their facility will soon be expanded with the construction of another floor.

 

A medical mission trip to Mexico City early this fall is in the works, to include both medical and dental services. If you would be interested in parti- cipating, please contact Chris or Fidel.

 

On a more somber note, the Rochas’ 12-year-old son, Liam, is experiencing some serious health issues and is in need of our prayers. The doctors are still trying to determine the cause of his illness, so please pray for his healing and for God’s blessing of peace and strength for their family.
