Stories of Thankfulness

…your generosity 

…is not only supplying the needs  of God’s people

but is also overflowing in many expressions of thanks to God.

 2 Corinthians 9:11-12

 

What are you thankful for? I am thankful for many things, but today I am especially thankful for your generosity. Last week on Harvest Sunday, our congregation gave or pledged $199,763 to support our global mission partners in 2017!

 

I am not alone in feeling grateful. As the passage above indicates, generosity breeds thanksgiving. Our church leaders, missions committee, and our missionaries in particular, are grateful as well. Here are some of their expressions of thanks.

  • Your ongoing support of our work has been especially helpful as expressions of Christ’s love and grace to the communities where our new churches have been planted. We look forward to being able to build and share together those wonderful talents and blessings that God bestows so bountifully on us all.
  • My heart has been bound to your hearts because of your constant overwhelming love through the years, which continues to this day. I wish each of you could come and meet some of the precious people with whom you will share eternity, because you decided to love those you never met. You have given of yourselves for the sake of others’ eternities, and God is continuing to bless your efforts.
  • I am writing in humble gratitude for your generous support. God is so good to move hearts in order to supply our needs toward the fulfillment of His plans. Thank you for being part of our family through your gifts and prayers! May God pour out His blessings on you!

As always, God is the source of these blessings. He is the one who supplies all that we need to be able to give generously (2 Corinthians 9:8-11). As a result of the partnership of His provision and your generous hearts, souls are being reached and His kingdom is expanding throughout the world.

To God be the glory during this season of thanksgiving!
