The Work Must Go On

South Texas Hispanic Ministries, a GCOC-supported mission effort, suffered a great loss earlier this year with the untimely death of its mission coordinator, Craig Cooper. “Craig was the most brilliant servant of God I have ever met,” stated Dale Fielder, a friend and fellow elder with Cooper for the Church of Christ North in Pharr, TX. “The quality of his work was unparalleled. I cannot imagine how he was able to juggle all he was doing.”

But in spite of this loss, Fielder and other church leaders are determined that the mission will continue. Fielder has committed to work full-time as the new mission coordinator and is in the process of recruiting others to serve as leaders in this vital ministry.

South Texas Hispanic Ministries currently supports and works with a total of 21 church plants on both sides of the border. “There are 1,700 Spanish-speaking Christians meeting on any Sunday morning in South Texas and Northern Mexico because of the bond of God’s love at work in this area,” Fielder stated in a recent report. “Thank you for seeking a way to use your resources to help in this ministry. We appreciate your support, prayers, and counsel.”

Please pray for the leaders of this important ministry as they navigate through this time of transition and continue to reach out and serve in God’s kingdom.
