Baby Shower

For Laura Hoyler Melson, daughter of Donna Jackson, on Sunday, March 12, from 2:00 – 3:30pm at the home of Mickey Allen, 2107 Boca Vista Dr. Laura and Ryan are expecting a boy and are registered at Babies R Us and Target.

 

Announcements   

Larry’s Diner – Wednesday, February 22, 5:00-6:15pm, in the Fellowship Center. The White Plate Special includes Enchilada Casserole, Beans, Rice, Chips, Salad Bar, Dessert and Drink for $5. Kid-friendly menu is also available for $1 per item.

 

Piecemakers Quilting Bee (last Tuesday of the month) – February 28, from 4:00pm-8:00pm, at the Christian Service Center. Bring your own supper. Experience is not necessary. Time is spent working together piecing quilts to be donated. If you have questions, contact Betty Curbo, Becky Roberts or Jamie Skelton.

 

Foster’s Home Annual Auction – March 3-4 at the Foster’s Home campus. They are in need of furniture, used vehicles, and silent auction items. For more information or to have donations picked up, contact Lacy Barton at or 254-968-2143, ext. 245.

 

Foster’s Home Need – Every other year for the past 20 years, Foster’s Home for Children in Stephenville has made sure that the middle school children on their campus have been able to participate with their classmates at school in attending a trip of a lifetime to Washington D.C. to learn more about the blessings of freedom and democracy. Most years, Foster’s has 1 or 2 students who are eligible to participate, but this year they are blessed to have 7 students, which presents a financial challenge to the Home. The trip includes transportation, airfare, meals, lodging, and tours of historical monuments at a cost of $1,596 per student. If you would be interested in helping with this effort, you can give your donation to the church office (checks payable to Granbury Church of Christ), clearly designated for the Foster’s Home D.C. trip, by Sunday, March 12. One check for the total amount of contributions will then be sent to Foster’s Home.

 

Directory Photos – We would like to have a photo of you for our directory! For only a coup[le more weeks there will be stations around the building on Sunday mornings and Wednesday evenings that will allow you to have your photo taken (look for a sign on the wall labeled “Photos”). One of our volunteers will quickly take a snapshot, and we will add it to our online directory. If you prefer, you can also submit a photo by emailing it to . If your photo is in the 2014 directory or you have recently had your photo added, there is no need to have another one taken.  If not, or if you want to update your photo, we hope you will take advantage of this opportunity! Once the photography process is completed, you’ll be able to access the updated directory on our website and phone app, and paper copies will be available for pick-up in the church office.

 

The Christian Service Center is no longer accepting donations of clothing, furniture, household items, etc.

 

Free Service Provided – John Knox and Rachel Rouse are offering free counseling services as a part of their degree and licensing programs. If you know someone who could benefit from counseling, contact John at  or the church office (817-573-2613), or Rachel at 806-438-8919.

 

Elder Resignations - Mike Gilbert and Bob Spies have resigned from the eldership. Bob has served since 1997 and Mike since 2003. Balancing church, family and work is a challenge, and we appreciate their years of service and dedication to the Lord’s work in Granbury. Their support and advice will be missed.

Children’s Ministry

Pancakes and Policies (Children’s Ministry Training) – Saturday, March 4, 8:30am – 11:00am. The Children’s Ministry is inviting all volunteers to come to a morning of pancakes with your family, praise and worship time, and information to serve our children in the best ways possible. After breakfast, babysitting will be provided. If you attended the fall training session, please come again as we have new things to share. Please RSVP by going to the church website and filling out the online form.

Game and Potluck Day – Each Thursday beginning at noon in the Parlor. Bring a sack lunch and your favorite game and join us for a fun afternoon.
