To Melody Holly who was named GISD’s Elementary Teacher of the Year! She teaches third grade at Brawner Intermediate School.

Honoring Donica Martin and Mark Sawyer – Sunday, May 19, 2:00-4:00pm at the home of Sara Blevins (4820 N. Woodcreek Dr.). They are registered at Target and Bed, Bath and Beyond.

 

Announcements    

First Sunday Welcome Lunch – The Climbers and Seekers classes, Elders and Deacons invite guests and new members who have placed membership since May 2018 to be their guests for lunch in the Dining Hall of the Fellowship Center on Sunday, May 5, right after the 10:15 worship service.

 

No GriefShare group this Sunday, May 5.

 

Wednesday Night Diner – 5:00-6:15pm, in the Fellowship Center. This week’s menu includes Joe’s Pizza, Chips, Salad Bar, Cookie and Drink for $5. Kid-friendly menu is also available for $1. Proceeds go toward scholarships for youth group activities.

 

Foster’s Home Workday – Tuesday, May 14 – Meet at the church building at 8:15am, travel to Foster’s Home and work for the houseparents cooking, etc. The group will eat out for lunch, then return around 2:30pm. If you plan to go help this month, call Barbara Tennison (254-744-4919) or Ruthie Hudson (817-326-3189).

 

Magi Project Volunteer Luncheon – Thursday, May 16, 11:00am – 1:00pm, at the McDermott Rd. Church of Christ in Plano. The luncheon is free, and project ideas will be shared. If you plan to attend, please RSVP to 469-892-2884 by May 10.

 

Youth Service Projects – Contact Scotty Weaver ( or 817-573-2613) if you need help with a project at your home.

Game Day – Each Thursday beginning at noon in the Parlor. Bring a sack lunch and your favorite game and join us for a fun afternoon.

 

Children’s Ministry

Children’s Ministry Meeting – Sunday, May 19, at 9:00am in the Worship Center. This meeting is for parents, teachers and anyone interested in the Children’s Ministry. We will be looking at the last year with time for Q&A, discussing goals for the next year, and announcing a few summer dates. We will also get a sneak peek inside of our classrooms. If you have been curious about getting involved, or would simply like to know what our Children’s Ministry is about, then this meeting is for you. For more information, contact Marlita Windham ().
