Wedding Shower
Honoring Lexi Hackney, daughter of Mark and Tami Hackney, on Sunday, August 18, 2:00-3:30pm at the home of Susan Blevins, 601 E. Woodcreek Ct. She is registered at Target and Bed, Bath and Beyond.
Honoring Shannon Fultz and Jackson Hughes, son of Connie Hughes. In lieu of a local wedding shower, we will honor Shannon and Jackson with a “virtual” shower by collecting monetary gifts to help the couple start their new home together. You may participate by placing your donation in one of the envelopes passed in Bible classes, giving it to Tina Reynolds or Janna Duty, or bringing it to the church office. Please make checks payable to Jackson Hughes (not to the church). The deadline to contribute is Sunday, August 25.

Wednesday Night Brown Bag – 5:00-6:15pm, in the Fellowship Center. Bring your own meal; the church will provide free drinks and ice cream. The Uplift service will follow at 6:30 in the Worship Center.
Carter BloodCare will be receiving donors in the Fellowship Center on Sunday, August 25, from 8:30am – 12:30pm.
Piecemakers Quilting Bee – Monday, August 26, 10:00am to 2:00pm in Room 8 at the church building. We work as a group making quilts for various needs. Help Needed! Foster’s Home is planning a work day on Saturday, September 7, to clean up the grounds in preparation for their Children’s Day the next weekend. The work includes mowing, trimming, picking up debris, etc. If you can help, please contact John Webb (817-819-3920 or ).
Grief Support Group – Beginning September 8, Granbury Church of Christ will offer an 11-week GriefShare support group on Sunday afternoons, 3:00-5:00pm in Room 8 (enter at the covered drive-through entrance on the west side of the building. Turn right at the hallway; Room 8 is the third door on the right.). The cost is $15 for materials, payable at the first session (scholarships are available). If you plan to attend, please register online at www.griefshare.org (detailed instructions on the information brochures available on the information tables).
Ladies’ Bible Class will kick off with an organizational meeting on Wednesday, September 11, at 9:30am. The class location will be moved to the Parlor this year. Come and join us for great Bible study and fellowship!
Foster’s Home Children’s Day – Saturday, September 14. A barbecue lunch will be served at noon, followed by tours of their new homes and pavilion. Come and see how God is changing lives at Foster’s Home!
Bible Lands Tour Opportunity – Calvin and Judy Warpula will be moving to Granbury in the next couple of months and plan to worship and serve with us at GCOC. Calvin is a retired minister and will be leading a Bible Lands tour to Israel September 12-21, with an optional extension to Jordan September 22-25. There are 21 people so far who are going on the tour, and they have space for a few more. They would love to have some folks from Granbury go with them. Everyone is invited! On your way to the Granbury Pirate home football games this season, stop by the GCOC parking lot from 4:00-6:30pm for a hamburger or hotdog at our tailgate party, hosted by the GCOC Youth Group.
Donations Needed – Do you have eyeglasses that you no longer use? Give the gift of improved eyesight to someone in need by placing them in one of the boxes on the information tables near the east and west entrances.

School Supply Drive – Remember to bring your school supply donations for Foster’s Home for Children by Sunday, August 18. Drop-off stations are at the entrances to the church building.
