Fifth Sunday Connections Group will meet Sunday, September 30, at 6:00pm at the home of Yvonne Rosenquist.  Everyone is invited to attend. Bring finger foods and come to meet, greet and fellowship! Phil Moore will be the guest speaker.

 

Wednesday Night Diner – 5:00-6:15pm, in the Fellowship Center. This week’s menu includes Grumps Burger, Chips, Salad Bar, Cookie and Drink for $5. Kid-friendly menu is also available for $1 per item. Proceeds go toward scholarships for youth group activities.

 

Mentors Needed – Brawner Intermediate School is looking for adult mentors for 3rd – 5th grade students for 30 minutes a week during their lunch period. If interested, please attend the information meeting at the school on Thursday, October 4, at 12:30pm or go to their website

 

Magi Project – This year our Magi gift boxes will go to Casa de la Esperanza (House of Hope), a children’s home in Anahuac, Mexico that we support through our missions program. Empty boxes will be available for pick-up in the gym on Sunday, October 7. Please fill the boxes with gift items and school supplies and return them to the gym by Sunday, October 21.

 

First Sunday Welcome Lunch – The Neighbors and Faith-Builders classes and Elders and Deacons invite guests and new members who have placed membership since October 2017 to be their guests for lunch in the Dining Hall of the Fellowship Center on Sunday, October 7, immediately following the 10:15 worship service.

 

Home Health & Hospice Care Presentation – Sunday, October 7, 5:00pm, in the Worship Center. Trish Reiner of Interim HealthCare will give information and answer questions regarding home health and hospice care to help families determine when help is needed and how to evaluate the services and options that are available. (No evening service in Room 5 that night)

 

Foster’s Home Workday – Tuesday, October 9 – Meet at the church building at 8:15am, travel to Foster’s Home and work for the houseparents cooking, etc. Bring a sack lunch. The van will return around 2:30pm. If you plan to go help this month, call Glenda Fry at 817-573-3244.

 

Praise & Harmony Workshop with Keith Lancaster of Acappella Ministries – Saturday, October 20, 6:00-8:00pm, in the Worship Center. The next morning, Keith will teach a combined class at 9:00 and lead worship at 10:15. Join us for this uplifting time of singing and worship to God!

 

Foster’s Trunk or Treat – Sponsored by GCOC at Foster’s Home for Children in Stephenville on Sunday, October 28, 6:00-8:00pm. Candy donations are needed (put in tubs located around the building). Volunteers are also needed to go and decorate their car trunks for candy distribution. Contact the church office if you can help.

 

Ray Vander Laan Seminar – February 15-17, 2019 at the Granbury Church of Christ. Registration for GCOC members begins Monday, October 1, on the church website (www.granburycoc.net). Cost is $20 per person. Registration will be advertised to the public beginning November 1, so reserve your seat now!

Game and Potluck Day – Each Thursday beginning at noon in the Parlor. Bring a sack lunch and your favorite game and join us for a fun afternoon.

 

Children’s Ministry

Christmas Musical Parent Meeting – Sunday, September 30, at 10:00am in the Parlor for parents of kindergarten – 5th grade children interested in participating in the Christmas musical.

 

LTC Meeting – Sunday, September 30, in Room 5 (Encouragers classroom) immediately following the Sunday morning worship service. This meeting is for the parents of new or returning 3rd – 12th grade students who are interested in participating in Leadership Training for Christ.
