On Tuesday, I had just finished eating lunch with a group of ladies. We had concluded our First Responders Lunch which we do on a weekly basis. One of our neighbors who came in for counseling asked me if we were having a Cop Convention. I’ve known him since Fort Stockton days at one of the prison units I worked at.
Of course, we could begin by thanking Linda and the group of ladies that provide the food each week and the group of individuals that are always jolly on the spot to set up the facilities, serve generously with their time, and leave the facilities in tip top shape after we have served our guests. But that’s not what I’m here to tell you.
What I wanted to say is that Paula was at the table with all of us. First, she had to tell us all about a lady from another church asking her what we did over here at the Granbury Church of Christ. Paula reported everything she knew that we did here at the Center and told her we did a lot more that she didn’t even know about. I love to hear that because of the glory of God involved in all that. Then she told about this group of men that had shown up at her house the day before to do a complete once over to fix and repair her house and to build her a ramp and porch. They likely completed all that work they went out there to do by the end of the day on Tuesday. It’s difficult to get Paula to cease once she starts. I only saw her pause once to fold her hands, bow her head, and pray. She is a very special lady, as are all those we serve with here at the CSC.
